Creating Profile Drafts

In Profile Drafting – The Basics, you learned how to turn an existing profile draft into a structural draft for any unit weave. That’s very powerful, but it still requires that you have a profile draft to start with.

In Creating Profile Drafts, you’ll learn how to turn any drawing you can make on graph paper into a profile draft following a very logical, step by step process:

• Work out the profile threading,
• Work out the profile treadling,
• Work out the profile tie-up.

Each part of the process is broken down into simple, clearly explained steps. The whole process is so straightforward, you’ll be able to master it quickly.

And once you’ve got a profile draft, you can use what you learned in Profile Drafting – The Basics to turn it into a weavable structural draft.

Put all that together, and before long you’ll be able to turn anything you can design on graph paper into a weavable draft!

Fair warning: Just because you can create the draft doesn’t mean you’ll be able to weave the fabric on the number of shafts and treadles you have available. This course may lead to shaft envy!
