Class Description
Welcome to the vibrant world of handpainted warps! Infuse your weaving with unexpected color and creativity with this class on dyeing painted warps. This class will demystify the process so anyone can make their own unique warps to weave.
We will cover supplies, materials, and color theory, and experiment with three techniques to apply dye to warps.
Supplies:
- Towels
- Paint brush(es)
- Small bowl (or two)
- Notebook for notes
- Scissors
- Plastic sheeting
- Latex gloves, if using
- Bowl or tray to hold dyed yarn while it processes
- Warping board
- Cotton, linen, rayon or silk yarn for warping
- Procion Fiber-reactive dyes
- Soda Ash
- Urea (optional)
