Welcome to Getting Started with Design!

In this course, you’ll learn how to design your own project, starting from a basic draft. We’ll start with an example draft and show you how to:

• Choose a yarn/sett and calculate how many threads you need
• Create a threading that’s the width you need
• Design a unique treadling using three common treadling variations
• Choose colors and design your warp stripes
• Pick a weft color that perfects your design
• Crunch all the math needed to get your project to the loom

In each lesson, you’ll practice with our example draft, then experiment with creating your own designs. You’ll find lots of options for designing and weaving it your way!

By the end of this class, you’ll be able to start with a draft and design a project that reflects your tastes and choices. In short, you’ll be able to take a draft and weave it your way.
