Twill gamps are structure gamps that combine several different twill threadings and treadlings to see what happens when they mix. You can change the tie-up for even more variations, all on the same warp. After weaving a twill gamp, you’ll have a whole menu of twill options to choose from when planning future projects.

In Twill Gamps, you’ll learn the ins and outs of designing a twill gamp, including

  • Which twills play nicely with others and which can be problematic
  • How designing a reference gamp differs from designing a pretty project that just happens to be a gamp
  • How to decide which variations to include in your gamp
  • What you need to worry about and what you don’t when it comes to designing reference gamps
  • How and why to add dividers between variations
  • Several methods to link different variations together
  • What to do at the selvages

You’ll find a detailed, step-by-step description of the process of creating a gamp, with complete instructions and the opportunity to try each individual step yourself in the Draft Editor.

You’ll also find ready made gamps of various kinds with .WIFs you can download or open and edit in the Draft Editor, including a classic twill gamp for four shafts and half a dozen gamps for eight.
