This course has been merged with Project Design: Winter Holiday Towels and expanded on in the new course Weaving for Winter Holidays II.
Many holidays have specific color palettes associated with them. Some of these palettes are easy to use, others are more challenging. Weaving for Winter Holidays gives ideas for how to weave for four holidays with specific color palettes: Christmas, Yule, Hanukkah, and Lunar New Year.
In Weaving for Winter Holidays, you’ll find guidelines and strategies for designing with each holiday’s color palette. For each holiday, there are two demo videos that illustrate many different ways to create attractive designs – quickly and easily.
The first demo in each chapter uses plain weave, which allows us to play freely with stripes and stripe patterns. This demo is very suitable for rigid heddle weavers, but the principles also apply to many other drafts. So the demo is well worth watching even if plain weave isn’t your thing.
The second demo in each chapter specifically addresses shaft-loom design possibilities. The examples shown are for four or eight shafts, but the principles apply to all drafts, no matter how many shafts are used.
